With a diverse menu of works exploring movement and creativity, Milepost 5 presents the opening of two new gallery shows, the continuation of a third show, a free Shakespeare performance by Post5 Theatre, and an opportunity for guests to explore the work of our 150+ resident creatives during Artist Open Studios. This interactive exhibition features paintings by Nada Katz, accompanied by dance performances, sound pieces and poetry created by other Milepost 5 residents, inspired by the paintings in the exhibition.

Soumya is a fine art photographer based out of Portland who focuses on conceptual portraits. Using tones, colors and poses, she sets a mood that is both surreal and contemplative. She stages her pictures to convey a sense of storytelling. Photographic Stories will showcase a range of her works, both portraits and self-portraits. Prints will be available for sale (prices vary).
An Art Exhibit By Ricardo Herrera (“Exo”) & Jeremiah Beale

Exo and Jeremiah Beale’s installation is an exercise in the theory of the Evolution of biological complexity through a rigorous process of elimination. Their work creates an environment where science, space and chaos exist side-by-side in a world of invention and imagination.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

After enjoying the art on display, bring your picnic dinner outside to the courtyard and watch the show! After the success of last year’s debut Romeo & Juliet, Post5 are expanding their programming this summer with both A Midsummer Night’s Dream (June 29th – July 20th) and Henry IV Part 1 (August 17th – September 8th). This year they will also premiere the first-ever Portland Outdoor Shakespeare Festival, featuring nine productions by six local classical theatre companies. - Milepost 5 artist Carly Rice is one of 20 artists selected for the Portland Artists Kumite, with voting taking place until July 7th.
- Milepost 5 artist Jae Burlingame will be showing his work at The Gallery Zero through July 28th as part of “The Big-Ass Graphics Show.”
