Creative Director, Gavin Shettler, was brought on board in the spring of 2008 to develop and implement creative programs for Milepost 5. His mission is to both support the community of resident creatives and to develop Milepost 5 through active engagement in Portland’s creative community. Under his creative direction, Milepost 5 has established an artist residency program, resident curatorial programs for the building’s common spaces, and hosted several significant exhibits and events with excellent guest curators and hundreds of artists from diverse disciplines.
Ongoing Development of MP5 Programs & Events
The development of the full range of Milepost 5 programs will coincide with the physical renovation of The Studios building. During this time, the creative director and developers will be working with community, civic leadership, experts, and other interested parties to create the best possible Community for Creatives.
